Welcome to the Beloit Memorial Environmental Clubhome page! Currently, we are focusing on securing a Green Grid green roof for Beloit Memorial High School. A green roof is a roof substantially covered in vegetation. We envision a native species garden complete with 279 individual grids on an L-shaped portion of our now barren roof. 3 floors of classrooms would get optimal viewing of this space. Adding to all of the self generated qualities of the green roof will be spectacular views of the beautiful Rock River. All of these aspects will make for a learning experience unlike any other in the country. It is important to know that a green roof is only the first step in making Beloit Memorial an environmentally friendly school. It is an inconvenient truth to note that we have along way to go, but with your help we can make our vision a reality.
The BMHS Environmental Club is a completely student-run organization. From our meetings to our field trips, we come up with it, organize it, and execute it.
Help us make Beloit and the world a better place to live.
